Hurricanes Helene and Milton have reminded us of the urgent need to be prepared for disasters and the power of community support in times of crisis. The Charlotte County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) launched a disaster recovery donation campaign, not only to support immediate relief efforts but also to build a stronger foundation for future disaster responses.
Your donations will provide critical resources such as emergency shelter, food, medical assistance, and housing repairs for those impacted by recent hurricanes. But, beyond the current recovery efforts, year-round contributions to COAD’s disaster relief fund will enable us to respond more quickly and efficiently when future crises arise.
“We’re committed to helping our community recover from recent hurricanes, but we must also plan ahead,” said Kelly Hunter, COAD Volunteer. “With consistent support, we can ensure we’re better prepared to meet the challenges of the next disaster."
COAD works year-round to strengthen disaster response capabilities by coordinating with local organizations, faith-based groups, and government agencies. Your ongoing contributions allow us to maintain readiness, pre-position essential resources, and respond with speed and precision when disasters strike.
